Adrenal Stress Test

£135

The adrenal system plays a central role in how the body responds to stress, regulates energy levels, supports sleep, and maintains overall resilience.

When this system becomes dysregulated, the effects can be wide-ranging and often present in non-specific ways. These may include fatigue, poor sleep quality, mood changes, digestive symptoms, weight fluctuations, or difficulty losing weight despite appropriate lifestyle changes.

This test assesses the body’s stress response system by measuring key adrenal hormones across the course of a single day.

A simple at-home saliva test kit is provided, with instructions for collecting samples at four specific time points throughout the day.

Once your samples have been returned to the laboratory, results are typically available within approximately one week. These are then reviewed and shared securely via your Practice Better portal.

The test measures two key hormones involved in stress regulation:

  • Cortisol
  • DHEA

Cortisol follows a natural daily rhythm, rising in the morning and gradually declining throughout the day. This pattern provides valuable insight into how the body is responding to stress and whether the natural rhythm has become disrupted.

DHEA offers additional information about overall resilience and the body’s capacity to recover from stress.

The results are presented in a clear, visual format that maps your daily cortisol pattern, allowing for easy identification of imbalances.

This information is then used to guide a personalised nutrition and lifestyle strategy aimed at supporting adrenal function, improving energy regulation, sleep quality, and stress resilience.
