Comprehensive Digestive Health Test

Who is this test for?

This test is recommended for people who experience digestive problems, such as diarrhoea, constipation, bloating, cramps and more. If you have been diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), this test can shed light on the underlying reasons. As the importance of the gut for overall health becomes more and more apparent, comprehensive stool tests are now often recommended for people experiencing seemingly unrelated health issues, e. g. mental health problems or auto-immune conditions.

How does the test work?

You will receive a test kit complete with detailed instructions and everything you need to take a stool sample in the comfort of your home. Approximately three weeks after you have posted the sample, I will get the results, which I will share with you via your Practice Better portal.

What is tested for?

This test examines markers that provide information about digestion, absorption and inflammation. A large part of the test is devoted to microbiology, evaluating the balance of beneficial and pathogenic bacteria and yeasts, also checking for parasites.

What will the result tell us?

Getting a better picture of how well the digestive system is functioning, whether there are any imbalances, and at which point support is needed, can help shed light on the underlying reasons for IBS, ease the symptoms and improve quality of life. Targeted nutritional therapy may also help manage other chronic health conditions.
